I keep an old can on my desk as a thread bin where I can sweep up all the small detritus from my desk as I go (rather than aiming for the bin and all little threads going everywhere on the floor).
But it is kind of ugly and i had been meaning to do something about it for a while. And I finally got around to it!
I peeled off the label and glued on a piece of white paper.
Then cut a piece of fabric and glued that around it. Ta da! New much nicer thread bin.
It wasn't much of a project but with these things really the hard part is getting around to doing it.
On the organisational front I also had a small brainwave about a 70s record box that I had to buy from a Charity shop because it was so cute. I do have plenty of records but I don't really need to carry them around, so the record box was just sat there.
But then I had the idea of storing all my envelopes and mailers and paper in there and suddenly it has a purpose again! Which is very pleasing.
As I say, small projects, but they are small little jobs done that can be ticked off from the mental to-do list.
