If I have time in the afternoon on the weekend I quite like to try out one of the recipes I have bookmarked. As we are in Plum season I thought I would give this Dorie Greenspan recipe a go that I had bookmarked on Smitten Kitchen. It worked out nicely.
I used green plums rather than purple. I love how the cooking brings out the juice of the plums into a little pool where the stone was.
The particular advantage of this recipe is that it looks good but is also pretty easy. It would be great as a winter desert with custard or cream, and is delicious as a tea cake on its own.
That cake looks delicious! I could eat a piece right now ;)
