Seven Things

The picture is of the lights in the entryway of the Guggenheim in New York, I have about two more lots of NYC photos left that I would like to put up here then the rest will go on Flickr. I also will do a post about all the places that we went to as that might be helpful to other people. My NYC updates have got a little spread out because it was quite a busy rush back into normal life when we returned, but all's good.

I was tagged twice before I went away to NYC to do the 7 Things meme and I never got time to do it in all the craziness - this thing requires thought! :) Thanks for tagging me, I like being tagged for things. I am meant to tag people in return but so many people have done this now that I suggest anyone who hasn't done it and reads this should give it a go. I realise that I haven't been very wordy around here in ages so this seems a good opportunity to talk about random things that are going on with me, maybe that is not the exact brief of this which was to say 7 quirky or interesting things about oneself as this is more about mundane life but lets see!

1. My favourite show on TV at the moment is The Dog Whisperer, they have imported old series to a freeview channel here. I have always wanted to own a dog, when I was little I used to walk an invisible dog to school :)

2. Our oven seems to be broken. This is annoying. So many winter recipes involve the oven. I am going to see if I can fix it at the weekend. In a previous house I lived was without an oven for a while so I know a few workarounds. Did you know you can grill pizza? True.

3. I am going to take up crocheting again. I used to do it a little bit a long time ago but currently I mainly use my crochet hook for poking inside out narrow sewing projects like handles on bags and the legs of softies. Crochet is something you can do watching a film and sipping mulled wine. Essential for the season yes!

4. Speaking of which my tips for making mulled wine are that the main two things you need to avoid are adding too many spices and heating it too much. Oh yes also a great alcohol free version is hot cloudy apple juice with the mulled wine spices.

5. In a few weeks it is my birthday. YAYA! I am having fun thinking of things that I can do on it. I always take the day off work to go on a little day trip somewhere, maybe to a wildlife park or an interesting building or something.

6. Soon we are getting kittens! The excitement! We have been planning it for ages but we are waiting to find the right ones.

7. My favourite season is winter. So I am enjoying myself right now :)
