Chucks
Before I turn in for the night I thought I would quickly share a drawing I have been working on this evening. These are my old Converse that I bought in Tokyo many many years ago, before Converse became Nike, they are still just about viable as shoes although they are really more hole than shoe. These shoes have a history, they have been all over the world, they were on the cover of an EP and more recently on MTV. Go worn out shoes! Your worn out owner appreciates you.

I have been keeping up with my drawings. Sometimes when I haven't got a clear idea of something I would like to draw I think back over the day and draw lists of things. It gets the pen moving.
This is what I ate for lunch yesterday, two bits of that dark German rye bread, a piece of Brie, a cracker, an apple, water, and green tea.
We had wine last night.
Sunflower seedling.
Ha yes, these are the ingredients in Nigel Slater's mushroom pie from his book Appetite. That book is brilliant. Suits my style of cooking to a T. I made a small version of the pie last night. Here is a picture of last nights mushroom pie.
And here is the desk! Clockwise from the left, Simon's pen, my polling card for the vote for tomorrow, felt horse, a safety pin, my old bedside lamp, Guinness mug, and my Bamboo. And in the middle, my sketch book.
You can see a list of other Wednesday on-my-deskers here in the sidebar. I am finding it fun! It also reminds me to hurry up and get on with things, I have a big to-do list of creative/making things that need to be done. It can't all be 24hrs gardening around here you know :D

I did this while drinking Mugicha and listening to the Josephine Hart Poetry Hour on the radio. So glad it is Mugicha season again, the taste brings back so many summer memories.

I haven't forgotten about my drawing resolution. At the moment I am trying to think up something really nice for the gocco swap. Perhaps something involving the above chair? The chair was a gift from my sister and I to my mother when she got re-married.
Things are pottering along on flickr too. Hey! actually there is something pretty hilarious that has come out of my recent activity; I have been asked to join a shed group here and here. Ha! Isn't that cool! There really is a group for everything isn't there.

Happy New Year to everyone! Wow it's 2008.
I enjoy setting goals for the month but this is also the start of a year so needs something extra special. So after much thought I have decided that this year I shall draw EVERY DAY. Now I have written it on here I will have to stick to it. I will share one thing I have done at least once a week on here.
As part of my drawing I have also decided that I am not allowed to beat myself up about it - I am not allowed to worry that what I have done isn't good enough. Confidence building.
Here is my first drawing.

we dream of snow (mixed media)
Today I can across the website of Lisbeth Svarling, really nice illustrations and animations.
Also it is the end of 3191 a year of mornings but yay it is the start of 3191 a year of evenings! The year of mornings is also coming out in a book.
