Walking In My Mind

We headed up to London on a really quick visit to see my aunt and to go to Walking In My Mind which is on at the Hayward Gallery at the Southbank Centre. I had earmarked this exhibition as one to go to because it had installation works by Yoshimoto Nara and Yayoi Kusama but the whole thing was interesting. Well worth going to if you like installation art. Part of the Kusama installation was that the trees along the riverbank were wrapped in this dotted fabric. I love how it looks.

Photographs were not allowed in the gallery but this was part of the outside Kusama piece.

Southbank itself is really an interesting place to walk around. Mostly I have come here at night so it was nice to see it in the daylight.

walking through the Barbican

When we were in London we walked through the Barbican Centre. It is an interesting place. Built in the 1970s it is a big arts centre with housing as part of the site. I wonder what it is like to live there? This person seems to like it.

art car boot

On Sunday we went to the 2009 Art Car Boot in London. It was fun with tasty food and an art-school atmosphere. There was lots of art for sale however I didn't actually buy anything in the end although our friend bought a few things.

I am trying to get a bit better at taking pictures of people and crowds. Something I want to achieve is to not make people feel awkward or uncomfortable. I hope I achieved that :)

PS. Do you see the Kanken bag spot? It is like my one but in an orange rather than green.
